Have You Ever Felt Like You’re Just Too Sensitive?
Have you ever felt like you’re too sensitive?
That you get angry quickly… or that you just can’t believe anyone anymore?
Do you struggle with gut issues, constant fatigue, random pains, or migraines that seem to appear out of nowhere?
You might think, “Oh, it’s just my body acting up,” or “Maybe I’m just wired this way.”
But here’s the truth:
It’s not your personality.
It’s not just your body.
What if all these symptoms are actually messages from a single source—a source that nobody ever taught us about in school?
That source is your nervous system.
Wait… My Nervous System Can Do That?
Most people know the nervous system controls movement, heartbeat, digestion, and immunity. But what they don’t realize is that it also controls:
-
How you feel
-
How you react
-
And even what you believe about yourself
Wild, right?
So before we dive deeper into how the nervous system shapes your emotions, relationships, and patterns… let’s first understand what it actually is.
Think of It Like Electrical Wiring in a House
Imagine your body is like a house. Your brain is the electrical switchboard sitting right at the center. From there, hundreds of electrical wires (aka nerves) run throughout the house—to the fan, the lights, the fridge, everything.
These wires carry impulses back and forth—from your body to your brain and from your brain to your body.
And this entire network? That’s your nervous system.
Now, Let’s Take It a Step Further: Your Body is the Hardware. The Nervous System? That’s the Software.
Imagine your computer.
If there’s a problem with the software—a virus, a bug, something outdated—what happens?
-
It slows down
-
It freezes
-
It shows weird error messages
-
Sometimes, it just shuts down completely
Your body is the same.
If your nervous system (aka your software) is running well, you’ll function well.
But if it’s been hit by a “virus”—say, past trauma or chronic stress—then you might start seeing glitches:
-
You get angry easily
-
You shout and regret it later
-
You shut down and avoid everything
-
You procrastinate even the things you care about
These are not personality flaws.
These are signs that your nervous system needs an update.
Here’s the Good News: You Can Reboot. You Can Rewire.
Just like you can update or reboot your computer,
you can reboot your nervous system.
You can teach it to feel safe again.
You can retrain it to respond instead of react.
You can make it work with you, not against you.
And this… this is exactly what we’ll explore in my upcoming blogs.
So stay tuned.
We’re going to talk about how trauma affects your system, how healing actually happens, and how you can take back the driver's seat of your life.
Because you are not broken.
You’re just ready for an update.
Let me know if this resonated with you—drop a comment or share it with someone who needs to hear this today.
And if you’ve ever felt “too sensitive,” remember… that sensitivity is wisdom waiting to be decoded.
